Talk of immigrant friendly countries, Canada tops the list. A picturesque expanse of land with enthralling beauty, it is multicultural, vibrant and a bilingual nation with two official languages- English and French. Being the world’s second largest country, with respect to area, it is ethnically diverse and provides high quality of life. It ranks among the Top 10 countries in the United Nations Quality of Life Index. Politically speaking, it has a stable parliamentary democracy. With the lowest unemployment rate, it is a land of opportunities. With universities located both in urban and rural settings, in almost all the regions of the country, education is easily accessible. Considering the high quality of academic standards, degrees, certificates or diplomas from Canadian universities are globally recognized and considered equivalent to those obtained from The United States or any other Commonwealth nation.

There is no central system that lays down the rules for post-secondary educational institutions, instead they come under the jurisdiction of the provinces they are located in.

Language proficiency requirements- Considering the fact that both French and English are used as a medium of instruction, not all universities require fluency in both, but, in order to qualify for a program at an English speaking University, IELTS is a commonly accepted test that is required for university admissions and visa process.
Academic requirements- These vary, depending on the course and the institution offering the same.

International students with Student Visa are permitted to work for not more than 20 hours a week on casual basis and full-time during vacations.
